What does it cost?
The browser version is free — six lens series, your own styling, and a finished PDF with a small setcheater.com line on the card. $10 a year unlocks the full database of 340+ series, cast sheets, the Home Screen widget, your own lens entries, and exports with no watermark. Where do the lens specs come from?
They're compiled from publicly published rental-house catalogues and manufacturer spec sheets — T-stop, close focus and front diameter for each focal length. Always trust the lens in front of you over any database, including this one; if something looks wrong you can edit the values on your own sheet.
My series isn't in there. Now what?
Add it yourself. There's a form for a whole custom series and a quicker one for a single odd lens, and both save to your device so they're waiting next time. If it's a series other people are likely to want, send it over and it can go into the shared database.
Do I need an account?
You'll sign in with an email and a password, because that's how the app knows what you've paid for. What it isn't is a profile: your sheets, colours, fonts and custom lenses all stay on your device, and signing in never sends any of them anywhere.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. The lens database ships inside the app and everything you build is stored locally, so a stage with no bars or a location with no service changes nothing. The only thing that needs a connection is signing in the first time on a new device.
Will it actually print at the right size?
That's the point of the 3″ and 4″ card widths. The PDF is laid out at the real physical width with the fonts embedded, so it comes out of the printer at the size you designed — ready to trim and laminate.
